From Detroit, Acura’s NSX Intrigues

Acura showed off the NSX concept today in Detroit.  It is dazzling, and I’m not sure what to think just yet.  I tend to like supercars, especially when they’re shiny and sleek.  The grille is distinctly Acura and I especially enjoy the view from the front towards the back that highlights design cues from the original model.

Acura says the NSX will be developed in the U.S., and built in Ohio. Also, they say the NSX will come to market in the next three years.  Acura’s not sharing much else with us, but they did divulge that the NSX will be armed with a mid-mounted V6 engine, and Acura’s new Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (that stands for Super Handling-All Wheel Drive, in case you weren’t up to snuff on your acronyms.  Or should I say, Acura-nyms).

  1. Beautiful. OK, follow my math here – my youngest son is almost 8. He will be 11 when the NSX comes to market. He will be 14 when they do their first big redesign, and 15 when they fix what they screwed up on that redesign. Then when he is 18 and off to college, the three-year leases on that NSX are up and I can go get a lease return. Without you, Soulmobiles, my Soulmobiles, I never would have figured this out.

    • Always happy to help with the “real math” Bill. That said, my youngest is the same age as yours and I’m glad you worked the actual numbers so I don’t have to.
