Meanwhile, Back At The 2014 Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie Longhorn

The 2014 Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie Longhorn doesn’t ever want you to forget the ranch. There are subtle and not-so-subtle details in the Longhorn trim package that elicit the desire to go round up some cattle, bale the hay, and go two-steppin’ when you’re done.  From buckled saddle bags in place of seat back pockets to swirly curlicues on the instrument cluster bevels, the Ram 2500 Laramie Longhorn will never let you take the country out of the boy.  Or girl.

That's a small driveway you got there, Missy.

It’s a good thing the 2500 Laramie Longhorn is so good at making you dream of country life, because city life is not it’s happy place.  The parking spots are too small and the 2500’s turning radius is unsuited to suburban streets.  Of course, you can make adjustments.  Park far away, settle for not whipping the truck around in a flash.

Also, this truck is huge, and you will feel bad (or awesome, depending) pulling up behind normal-sized cars.  You will realize they see nothing but your grille in the rearview mirror.  Note the height in relation to my garage door.

Despite it not being easy in some ways, it’s tremendously easy in others.  There’s abundant storage for all your stuff in the front of the cab.  Not just for the driver but for the passengers too.  The seatback saddlebags delight rear passengers, as does the legroom.  Of course, the bed of the truck can handle a tremendous amount of stuff.  Like, a whole hockey team’s bags, or probably lots of hay and apples for your cattle and horses.  The Ram Boxes on either side of the bed above the rear wheel wells provide covered, locking storage so those pesky cows and horses won’t eat all your hay and apples when you turn your back. I also used it to stash Christmas presents.

Fancy details!

The truck is so comfortable, I picture the kids being all wiped out after a day of hauling’s done, falling asleep as the sun sets as we head back to the house from the field.  And you will too, with the help of the Longhorn’s farm-friendly  trim level features.
